Jennifer Lawrence has just given the perfect response to the Internet’s puritan-style outrage after she was filmed dancing on a pole.
The innocuous video in question captured Jennifer Lawrence letting loose at the Beverly Hills Club strip club in Vienna last month and it was, of course, leaked online.
After judge, jury and executioner weighed in on social media, the Academy award-winning actress felt pressurised enough to respond to criticism.
Look, nobody wants to be reminded that they tried to dance on a stripper pole by the internet.
It was one of my best friend’s birthdays and I dropped my paranoia guard for one second to have fun. I’m not going to apologise, I had a BLAST that night.
PS that’s not a bra it’s an Alexander Wang top and I’m not gonna lie, I think my dancing’s pretty good. Even with no core strength. Jen.
Jennifer is no stranger to Internet trolls. She was victim of the online hacking crimes which saw her private photographs leaked in a gross violation of privacy later dubbed ‘The Fappening’.
Of these violations, Lawrence said:
It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime. It is a sexual violation. It’s disgusting. The law needs to be changed, and we need to change… Just because I’m a public figure, just because I’m an actress, does not mean that I asked for this. It does not mean that it comes with the territory.
It’s my body, and it should be my choice, and the fact that it is not my choice is absolutely disgusting. I can’t believe that we even live in that kind of world.
You can watch Jennifer Lawrence on screen in the trailer for Joy below:
On screen or off screen, 26-year-old Jennifer proves that you can never be too famous or too successful to take yourself too seriously.
Take a bow, Jen, and keep dancing like no one’s watching. And when they are. Fuck it.
